Downtown Los Banos officially kicks off the season in a tradition of holiday hospitality.  The downtown merchants debut their holiday cheer by inviting the community to delight in an evening filled with SIGHTS, SOUNDS, AND ANTICIPATION OF THE HOLIDAYS.

Stores adorned with beautiful decorations, provide entertainment, offer delicious refreshments, along with strolling carolers, which add a special charm to our quaint downtown streets.  This event is for adults only to enjoy.

To pick up a passport for this great evening please bring nonperishable food items to any participating business.  donations will be given to the less fortunate of our community.

The Los Banos Chamber of Commerce welcomed new leadership and celebrated the business community at its annual installation of officers dinner on Wednesday.

Penny Glick, owner of The Country Duck and The Farm House, was selected Betty Trauba Business Person of the Year. Whala commended her for organizing the Downtown Wine Stroll and A Christmas Evening Downtown. Both events were designed to attract people into downtown businesses.

Consignment store owner sells high-end, antique items with affordability in mind

The Farm House consignment store is celebrating its first anniversary and owner Penny Glick has seen her business ebb and flow in the past year, much of it because of her own doing.

“It comes and goes. Right now we just sold a whole bunch of pieces during the street faire. Now we’re ready for people to bring consignment pieces in again,” Glick said. “There are consignment stores around that will just start stacking things on top of things, but it’s just like you can’t even move around.
